Who can benefit from our service?
Our service is for people who want to get to know a horse or for individuals who have horses and want to improve their communication skills with their horse.
What kind of training do you do?
We focus on natural horsemanship techniques using pressure and release to communicate with the horse and get the desired result.
Do I have to sign a waiver?
Yes there is a waiver you must sign in order to participate in our programs.
Under Missouri law, an equine activity sponsor, an equine professional, a livestock activity sponsor, a livestock owner, a livestock facility, a livestock auction market, or any employee thereof is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in equine or livestock activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine or livestock activities pursuant to the Revised Statutes of Missouri.
Do you have a cancelation policy?
Yes, there is a cancellation fee applied if you do not cancel your appointment 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson. The fee is 50% of the lesson price. The fee must be paid prior to the next session. We get that things come up so just make sure to let us know at least 24 hours ahead of the scheduled time, so we can plan accordingly.
What can I expect from my first visit?
Once we have collected your signed waiver, we will introduce you to the lesson horse. We will discuss horse safety issues, along with cleaning and tacking your horse. We will also talk about groundwork, its importance, and how it relates to the things we do in the saddle all while demonstrating for you. Next, you will perform groundwork maneuvers. Upon completion of the groundwork exercises, we will continue our discussion with pressure and release techniques, rein management, and ways to communicate to the horse. You will then get an opportunity to get in the saddle and apply the techniques first hand.
What do you charge for a lesson?
We charge 65.00 per person for an hour-long private visit. You may also participate in a non-private lesson for 55.00 per person. Group visits are priced on a case by case basis, if we can accommodate. Please reach out to us via email or phone to discuss.
Is there a fitness level i need to ride horses?
You should keep in mind horse riding requires balance, good core strength, flexibility and stamina.
What should I wear for lessons?
It is recommended that you wear long pants, and boots with a heel. If you desire to wear a helmet you should also acquire one, make sure it properly fits and bring it with you for use at each lesson.
What type of horses do you use for lessons?
We use American Quarter Horses
Is there a weight limit for riding horses?
It is recommended that the rider and tack weight together not exceed 15-20% of the horses weight. Quarter horses average weights are between 950 - 1200lbs. Using 1100lbs as the median weight and allowing for the max percentage, a rider and tack should probably weigh no more than 220lbs total. We follow these guidelines for safety of the rider and horse.
What time do I need to arrive?
We ask that you arrive prior to your scheduled time to get your horse tacked up and ready so the majority of your lesson can be utilized working with the horse.
Do you focus on a specific discipline?
Our main goal is to improve communication between the horse and rider and build confidence in both, while providing riding instruction. We do not focus on any special disciplines, but we do utilize western tack.
How are lessons scheduled?

What if I want to participate in your program but I don’t want to ride? Does it still cost?
We get it, some times just being around a horse is a great experience with out ever riding. We welcome you to come enjoy this opportunity to get to know a horse, however the normal lessons fees will still apply as we are utilizing the same lesson horse and lesson time.
Will you train my horse?
We are happy to train your horse and help you find solutions to problems you may be encountering. We strongly recommend you be a part of the training process.
How does the training work?
It really depends on what you are needing. We offer in house horse training on a weekly basis at a rate of 250.00 per week per horse. Owner to provide feed, hay, and any supplements. Our training program focuses on a 5 day training cycle and you can figure we will spend a couple hours a day with your horse. These spots are limited as we have a small facility. We encourage you to be involved with this training process, it will benefit you and your horse.
Can I bring my horse for a training visit?
You are welcome to haul in for a training visit. We work this just like a lesson visit. The cost is 65.00 per hour for a private lesson. Should you have a friend who wants to work with you, the cost is 55.00 per hour per person.
Do you provide off site training?
Off site training may be available depending on location and our current schedule obligations. Rates are on a case by case basis. Please reach out to us to discuss, we will try and accommodate if we can.
Do you have horses for sale?
On occasion we have horses for sale. Part of our program encompasses building a foundation on horses and once we think they are ready, we offer them for sale.
Do you purchase horses?
We are selective on the horses we purchase, however feel free to reach out and share with us what you have. You never know, you may have just what we are looking for.
