If you have looked at our site or read any of the other posts, you may have noticed our theme. #itsyourjourney.

We all have our own life, our destination from point A to point B. Some of us plan things, while others live by the seat of their pants.  Some of us feel stuck, and yet there are those folks who put the hammer down and move forward, navigating their journey, and calculating each stop along the way.

There are people who knew right away what they wanted to do with their life and have been living it from day one, while others may have felt they did not have a choice.  They were secure where they were and to make a change would be to venture off into the unknown.

Horse activities are no different

You might like to ride horses while your friend is content just to be around them.  My wife loves to trail ride, but she can’t get excited about going around in circles in an arena.

There are riders who like to turn the barrels and there are riders who like to swing the rope. I like to swing the rope, not very good at it, but it's a learning process and it's enjoyable for me.

If you do some searching, you can find various horse activities and competitions. Just to name a few, if you are into the western culture, there are halter, reining and cutting shows, not to mention rodeo events.  If you like english style riding, you might enjoy show jumping or cross country. I am not very familiar with english style events.  You can sometimes find fun days at local 4H shows.  There is also team sorting and team penning.  If you have an interest, there is something for you.

Our focus

Our focus is on initial training.  Building the foundation.  Finding a way to communicate with the horse in a way so he understands what you are asking without him getting too bothered about it.   Every horse is different, just like we are all different.  It's a journey to build a relationship with a horse.  It takes time.  It is also rewarding to see the advancements one can make when you develop a connection with your horse.  Starting a young horse is the most rewarding for me.  They seem to adapt quicker, they are willing to learn and really want to try.  The older horses, they want to get along too, but sometimes, I think they are stuck in their old ways and just in no hurry to change.  I get it, just ask my wife about me.

Our focus for you is similar.  We offer you an opportunity to build a foundation with horses.  To gain some insight, to help you better communicate with your horse today or someday in the future.  Essentially we would like to present you with a chance to get to know a horse.

Maybe you just want to be around horses, or maybe you want to take it to the next level someday.  That's the cool thing….. #itsyourjourney
